GMC sells up to 200 Hummer-specific accessories.
GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 doesn’t come cheap. The GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 costs $112,595, which includes the destination charge. GMC also packs it with every factory option. Prospective buyers can add a few thousand dollars to the price tag. GMC reported to Automotive News that customers are spending $2,000-$4,000 more on the Edition 1’s six figure starting price and on a variety of accessories.
GMC offers almost 200 Hummer-specific accessories, but customers gravitate towards the exterior lighting package. GMC offers the Edition 1 pickup in a soft-tonneau cover. However, that hasn’t stopped customers from upgrading. The lighting package includes tailgate step lighting and off-road auxiliary lighting. Customers can also upgrade the truck’s tailgate sound system and roof panel storage kit.
Duncan Aldred from Buick and GMC was the global vice president for Buick and GMC. He stated that Hummer Ev buyers were spending twice as much on accessories than Sierra and Yukon buyers. This trend is likely to continue, with 80 percent of reservation holders ordering the Edition 1 specification even though the official Edition 1 reservations have been sold out. GMC sold all Edition 1 reservations within one hour after opening the order books in late2020.
The Hummer has 66,000 reservations. New variants will be added over the next two-years. GMC offers the EV truck with different outputs in different configurations. The cheapest trim will be available in 2024. The price will be $80,000 and it won’t include features such as the Edition 1.
Edition 1 includes all the extras one would want for the Hummer including SuperCruise and Infinity Roof as well as adaptive dampers. The Edition 1 also includes the Watts to Freedom driving mode, four-wheel steering using CrabWalk and an extreme-offroad package with extra underbody protection, 35-inch tires, and 35-inch tires. The Edition 1 is also equipped with a powerful three-motor electric powertrain. It delivers 1,000 horsepower (745 Kilowatts) as well as 1,200 pound-feet (1.626 Newton-meters). This gives you 329 miles of range and weighs in at more than 9,000 pounds.
