The 2019 VW Jetta is $100 cheaper than the Outgoing Model

The base Jetta S starts at $18,545, with a 6-speed manual.

The Volkswagen Jetta is brand new. It will go on sale in the second half of this year at $18,545, which does not include destination or handling. This makes it $100 less than the previous model ($18.645).

The Jetta’s standard S trim will be its most affordable. The Jetta S comes with a turbocharged 1.4-liter engine that produces 147 horsepower (109 Kilowatts) as well as 184 pound-feet (249 Nms) of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission is available for an additional $800. Additional standard features include 16-inch wheels, LED taillights and headlights, as well as a 6.5 inch infotainment display with Bluetooth connectivity and compatibility with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The next-up SE trim starts at $22,155. An eight-speed automatic is standard, with no option to a manual. You will find the same 1.4-liter turbocharged engine throughout the range. The Jetta SE features a panoramic sunroof and dual-zone automatic climate control. There are also leather-wrapped shift knob and steering wheel, as well standard safety features such as forward collision assist and rear blind spot monitoring.

This is the R-Line trim. The 16-inch alloy wheels that were on the SE and S trim levels have been replaced by 17-inch “Trenton”, dark grey wheels. This gives the Jetta a sportier look. The exterior appearance of the Jetta is enhanced by a gloss black front grille and R-Line rear bumper. These include dual exhaust tips and foglights. Other features include an R-Line steering and two-tone grey and black seating surfaces.

The SEL trim is for you if luxury is what you are looking for. It starts at $24,415, and comes with many fancy features. Standard features include LED projector headlights and LED daytime running lamps, a rain-sensing wiper, an auto-dimming backview mirror, and a 10.25 inch Digital Cockpit display. The SEL Premium range, however, adds 17-inch two-tone wheels, R Line exterior features, and sport seats that have heating, cooling and memory functions. The Jetta SEL premium starts at $26,945.
