It’s difficult to imagine a better view of the GTS than when you open the roof.
Are you looking for a Porsche 911 this is a hotter version of the Carrera S, but it’s a step lower than the Turbo if so, the GTS is for you. These spy photos capture the development of the droptop version of this mildly-hot model. This model doesn’t seem to be wearing any camouflage. The GTS’s front fascia splits the inlets in three sections. This is in place of the horizontal slats at the corners of the Carrera S and Carrera. The bumper at the back has been updated with more outlets than the previous models. The 911 Carrera’s active rear spoiler is still in use.
GTS is equipped with center-lock wheels and large brakes visible behind the spokes in front. Although the front suspension seems lower than other models, this could be due to the way the car corners in the images.
The GTS will not look any different from other 911 models on the inside. The GTS might have Alcantara and carbon fiber trims to denote its extra performance.
Although there are not yet any official powertrain specifications, Porsche will likely increase the output of the 3.0-liter twin turbo flat-six engine. In the new Carrera S, the powerplant produces 443 horsepower (330kW) and the GTS should increase this number even further. Rumors place the powerplant’s output at 460 horsepower (343 kW).
These spy photos of the GTS in action and other photos of unmasked development vehicles suggest that Porsche isn’t afraid for people to see it on the road. According to recent rumors, the variant will debut in spring 2020 and go on sale by the end of the year. This version will likely cost more than the CarreraS starting at $113,000.
