Modern Pontiac Aztek Redesigned on Chevy Trailblazer Body

Although it isn’t hot, it’s still not bad.

Pontiac created a model that earned the reputation of being one of the most ugly cars ever made in the history the automobile industry. Tom Peters, chief designer at GM, wanted to create a new era of design and “make a statement about breaking GM’s instincts for caution.” However, it wasn’t for everyone.

Pontiac was dissolved after the 2009 model year. The last Pontiac car produced in January 2010 was a G6 sedan. It is not being talked about anymore, except by wb.artist20. He recently uploaded his attempt at making the Aztek more attractive on his instagram account. Visual similarities between the crossovers, if you look closely, you will see a strong connection. For example, the Trailblazer’s two-row headlights at the front and the huge C-pillar on its Trailblazer remind us of the Aztek’s rear side windows.

The Trailblazer retains the spirit and design of the original Pontiac Aztek with a few tweaks. We’ll let you decide if that’s a good thing or not, but we have to admit that this effort is worth your time.

In fact, the Aztek has been a frequent guest on our pages in recent years as many designers try to “fix” it using virtual drawings. You can view more of these renderings by clicking here.
