PPI Automotive Design GmbH has announced that they will only build 10 units of the Audi R8-based RAZOR GTR-10 with a V10 engine.
PPI Automotive Design GmbH has announced that they will only build 10 units of the Audi R8-based RAZOR GTR-10 powered by the V10 engine. Only the front hood and rear bumper will be different from the RAZOR GTR. All other body parts, including the rear bumper, sideskirts and rear spoiler, as well as the rear spoiler, rear engine cover and rear bumper, are also different.
PPI refined the V10 engine using a roof-mounted ram air-intake with sport filter, vented lifting glass, high-performance exhaust system, and reprogrammed Ignition Map. At 7,400 rpm, the engine produces 601 horsepower (448 kW/609 PS) and maximum torque at 6,400 RPM of 565 Nm. The serial R8 V10 produces 518 horsepower (386 kW/ 525 PS).
A completely redesigned, (compared to RAZOR GTR), wind tunnel-tested carbon fiber wide body kit (as described aboved) reduces lift while adding cooling to the engine oil coolers. The entire body is coated with optical carbon fiber. Carbon fiber is also used on the doors and roof pillars. The total weight savings are 250 kg / 551 pounds (serial curb weight V10R-tronic: 1,625kg / 3582lbs). This combined with the extra horsepower results in a 0-60 km/h time of 3.2 seconds (with modified transmission R-tronic) and a top speed of 335km/h (208 mph).
The RAZOR GTR-10 wheel and tire combo includes lightweight MAG11 Forged Aluminum PPI wheels in 9Jx19 (front), weighing 10.0kg and 12.0J x 20, (rear), weighing 10.9kg. The front tires are 245/35 ZR19 Michelin Pilot Sport 2 and the rear is 325/25 ZR 20,
6-piston calipers provide the brakes with 380 x 36mm discs in front and 356x 32 mm discs in rear. Audi’s Carbon Ceramic Brake System also offers higher friction brake pads that are PPI-specified.
A new KW coilover strut/spring system provides suspension. PPI offers a camber and tie-rod kits, as well as a hydraulic lift system that can raise ground clearance up to 45 millimeters.
Each RAZOR GTR-10 includes an aluminum plaque with a carbon fiber frame that shows the production number.
