Before the official debut at Chicago Auto Show, which is scheduled for later today, fully-revealing images of 2016 Honda Pilot were released.
Before the official debut at Chicago Auto Show, the 2016 Honda Pilot has been revealed in full.
The Pilot mid-size crossover is now in its third generation. It has undergone a major redesign that makes it more elegant than the previous model’s bulky, utilitarian design. The front fascia looks like it was inspired by the smaller CR-V, but has a more chromed grille that connects the headlights to the thicker upper bar. Fog lights are much smaller than those on the current model and sit low.
Side profile has a slightly sloped roofline. It appears that the rear doors are wider which suggests an increase in size. The rear end features boomerang LED taillights and a spoiler on the roof. It also has a curved window.
The interior cabin looks much more elegant than the second-gen Pilot. It features a redesigned steering column packed with buttons and a large touchscreen display part the infotainment system flanked with air vents. The interior cabin is also notable for its glossy black accents, 2 sunroofs and Blu-ray player. There’s also a power outlet at the center dash. Rear seats offer good legroom.
Although technical specifications are not yet available, Honda previously stated that the 2016 Pilot was “completely reengineered” and “redesigned” to be able to transport up to eight people. Honda R&D Americas, Los Angeles, and Ohio have developed the model. Production is expected to occur in Lincoln, Alabama.
