James Glickenhaus, Pininfarina-built Ferrari P4/5 fame, hopes to launch a unique racing Ferrari P4/5 Competizione. At the moment, very little information is available about the engine or the planned series.
James Glickenhaus’s name may not elicit any “lightbulb” reaction from everyone. However, those who have heard of the Pininfarina Ferrari P4/5 might recognize him. The Ferrari P4/5 supercar was an Enzo-based special made car that was built for the New Yorker in 2006.
Glickenhaus’s next project will be a P4/5 Competizione, which Glickenhaus hopes to start racing in the 2010 season. It was not announced, but it could be suitable for a North American Racing Team. The owner also confirmed that he would not be driving the car, but drivers were not mentioned. The collector posted messages on FerrariChat that did not include technical details, but he promised to release them soon. He said that he was still working on the details and would have an image and specifications within a few weeks.
This rendering was created by one Michiel van Den Brink. It appears to give a rough idea of the car’s appearance. Glickenhaus believes that the car’s TV and spectator value make it worthwhile to invest in, even though a sponsor is still not found.
“We could also do other races, and after her racing days are over, we’d keep her wearing that livery and she’d attend a lot more events.” He said that there would be lots of exposure and that it wouldn’t cost Crazy much.
