Talk about a tie-in.
The movie’s stars become instantly recognisable icons when it becomes a blockbuster. The world is flooded with western culture, and the merchandise often spreads around the globe. Some company has made it a business to put Captain America on a toaster. Renault’s new Kwid crossovers with Avengers-themed graphics are a perfect example of globalization. The one is dressed up as Iron Man, while the other is patriotic and features Captain America.
The compact crossover Iron Man features the super-hero’s red and gold trademark appearance. The unique graphics and insert grille add gold to the otherwise red Kwid. The word “INVINCIBLE” is written at the bottom of each door. Graphics include Iron Man’s Arc reactor design.
The Captain American Kwid’s color is white with blue and red accents. The bottom of the rear doors is adorned with “SUPER SOLDIER”. These graphics have a strong sense patriotism and are very American. There are many stars. The emblem on Captain America’s shield is displayed on the hood. Both designs stand out.
Interior changes are sparse. The Captain American Kwid features a red shift knob with red accent stitching, while the Iron Man crossover has a gold shift knob with accent stitching.
Only the 1.0-liter gasoline engine is available for the Renault Kwid Super Hero Edition. It produces 67 horsepower and 67 pounds-feet. Even though they are slower than The Avengers, these unique Kwid crossovers still have superpowers. An automatic transmission is available as an option.
It is not uncommon for movie studios to team up with automakers in 2018. Nissan, and the Star Wars franchise have created some truly unique offerings. Chevrolet offers Transformers, while Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is close to the Fast & Furious franchise. It seems natural that Renault would team up with the Avengers at this time.
