A Jeep Trackhawk is also included in the mix.
What better way to begin the week than watching Hellcat powered Dodge or Jeep monsters drag-racing? Although it would be a great improvement to plot any of the vehicles in the clip from High Tech Corvette, YouTube will suffice. We can’t all drive muscle cars with more than 700 horsepower at drag strips, so the video will suffice. We are not ignoring the irony of a YouTube channel titled Dodge clips. But we digress.
The Demon loves to race:
It’s always fun to see a Dodge Challenger Demon race at a drag strip. But this clip is unique because it shows a side-by-side run of the Challenger Redeye. Although we have seen many Demons run the quarter-mile, this is the first time that we have seen a Redeye on the track. It’s almost as powerful as the Demon, with 797 horsepower. It doesn’t have the same suspension system that allows the Demon to launch like a scalded missile.
The Redeye can still go straight. Dodge revealed that the car could reach 60 mph in 3.4 seconds, and can run a quarter-mile in 10.8 seconds. Although it’s fast, the Demon is not likely to be able to match the Redeye. We (and many others) have noticed that very few street-legal drag cars break the 10-second mark in stock trim since Demon videos began appearing online. This should make for a great matchup.
Demon Booms
It is. It is. It is unknown if the Hellcat-powered SUV was modified. We also don’t know whether the Challengers were either stock or modified. However, it’s amazing to see a Jeep pulling mid-11 second passes in a big Jeep. We also see the red Redeye run solo at 10.44 mph. This is a lot faster than the Dodge advertised.
The final battle between Redeye and the Demon is indeed close. We will mention that Redeye’s driver launched a little early and got the green light. This means that the Demon wins on technicalities. We think you’ll be very amazed at how close these cars are as the speed and times increase on the board.
