2021 Volvo S90, Volvo V90 Debut with Mild-Hybrid Technology, Subtle Facelift

Also, the V90 Cross Country, which was a jacked-up version of the V90 Cross Country, has been updated.

The Volvo S90 sedan, and V90 wagons are still some of the most beautiful cars available today. We are glad that the Swedes didn’t change the design of their midsize models in the wake of the facelift. You’ll find it hard to identify the changes because they are subtle.

The front fascia has been modified to include new fog lights, a slightly different spoiler and a revised look for the lower bumper. The rear taillights are full-LED and come with sequential turn signals. Volvo has also added new paint colors and a few alloy wheel designs to complete the exterior changes.

The 2021 S90 and models have a Bowers and Wilkins sound system that includes an upgraded amplifier and noise cancellation. The air cleaner system was originally introduced on the Chinese version of the S90/V90. It can clean the air of “almost all small particles” in a matter of minutes.

Volvo would like to highlight the new fancy sound system as well as the air cleaning technology for the smaller models. The two series have dual USB-C charging ports in place of the 12-volt outlets at the rear. There is also wireless charging for most models. The XC90’s tailored wool blend seats were added to the “90”, “60” and “60” models. Additionally, the top trim gets a leather-free upholstery.

Volvo has now added mild-hybrid tech to its XC90, XC60 SUVs and XC60 SUVs. All models of the mild-hybrid engine XC40, which promises to reduce emissions and fuel consumption by up to 15%, are being electrified.

Volvo already has a zero emission XC40, and promises to release an EV version next generation XC90 by 2022.
