2013 Mercedes G63 and G65 AMG: In Depth

The G63 AMG has a twin-turbo V8 engine of 5.5-liters with 544 PS (436 kW/ 536 HP) and 760 Nm (560lb-ft). This is 37 PS (27kW/ 36 hp), and 60 Nm (44lb-ft). The model can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds. It also has an AMG Speedshift Plus 7GTRONIC transmission that allows it to reach a electronically limited top speed at 210 km/h (130 MPH).

The engine start/stop system makes the G63 more efficient than its predecessor. The Gelandewagen gets an average of 13.8 L/100km (7.0 mpg US/20.5 mpg UK), with CO2 emissions of only 322 g/km.

The model features a more aggressive front bumper, revised grille, a retuned suspension, and a new exhaust system. The 20-inch alloy wheels are supported by high-performance brakes measuring 330 x 20mm back and 375 x 36mm front.

The cabin has been significantly upgraded inside with better quality materials and new electronics. Highlights include illuminated door sill plates and AMG instrument cluster with designo leather upholstery.


The G65 AMG is the ultimate SUV. The 6.0-liter biturbo V12 motor produces 612 PS (450kW / 603 HP) and 1000 Nm (637 lb-ft) respectively. The SUV can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds, and reach a maximum speed of 230 km/h (143 MPH). Owners can expect 17.0 L/100km (13.8 mpg US/16.6 mpg UK) and CO2 emissions of only 397g/km.

The G65 AMG also features a high-gloss chrome grille and “V12 BIOTURBO” badge. It also has titanium grey 20-inch alloy wheels. You’ll find diamond-pattern leather seats with piano black trim, and floor mats.
