Ram 1500 Rebuilt as a Muscle Truck with Hellcat V8 Power

This would be the natural successor of the Viper-powered Dodge Ram SRT-10.

Motor1.com staff would allow Fiat Chrysler Automobiles to embed its Hellcat supercharged V8 in every model it makes. Although it’s unlikely that we’ll ever see the mill in a Chrysler Pacifica, 300 or 300, Omniauto has a rendering of what the powerplant could look like under the next-gen Ram 1500’s hood.

This rendering shows the Hellcat’s 707 horsepower (527-kilowatts) Hellcat working in the Ram. It features trucks with many air inlets to cool the supercharged V8. It should be possible to complete the task with the large openings in both the lower fascia, and the nostrils on the hood. The truck’s blacked-out grille is matched with dark-finished wheels for a more imposing appearance. Bright red calipers and large brake rotors slow down the pickup when it is moving at high speeds. Side sills and flares slightly larger than the fender flares communicate that Ram is capable of better performance.

The new Ram 1500 will make its debut at the North American International Auto Show, Detroit, in January. According to spy photos, the new Ram 1500 will have a more angular front and sharper lines around its grille. The majority of powertrain options will still be V6 and V8 gasoline-powered engines. A diesel and plug-in hybrid might be added to the lineup later. The Hellcat is unlikely to be included in the lineup.

The Ram 1500 has a new layout inside. The center stack is dominated by a large infotainment system. It eliminates the need to use conventional buttons. The row of toggle switches in metallic finishes looks very attractive.

Although there are no signs that a Hellcat-powered Ram 1500 will ever hit the roads, there is precedent for a muscle truck from this company. The Dodge Viper’s 8.3-liter engine was available to American buyers starting in 2004 in the RamSRT-10 pickup. These beasts could roast tires quickly with 500 horsepower (373 kilowatts). They were initially only available in a regular two-door cab. A year later, a quad-door Quad Cab was made.
