European buyers would have a better choice of diesel options than the G 400d.
German insurance company HUK24 has just listed a Mercedes Benz G 400d diesel. This listing will soon be available to European buyers. HUK24 has previously predicted that the Mercedes-AMG GT R Roadster will be powered by Mercedes AMG A45 S.
The listing shows that the G 400d uses a 3.0-liter engine to produce 326 horsepower (242 megawatts). It will likely be offered alongside the G350d in Europe, which produces 282 horsepower (210 kW). HUK24 does not list the G 400d torque rating. However, it should be greater than the G 350d’s 443 pound feet (600 Newton-meters). Although the transmission is not mentioned by HUK24, all G-Class models that aren’t AMG have a nine speed automatic.

The 3.0-liter turbo-diesel inline six engine powers the G 350d. The turbodiesel is powerful enough to propel the SUV to speeds of 62 mph (100 km/h) in 7.4 seconds. The maximum speed is 124 mph (199 km/h). The G 400d will be even more powerful with an additional 44 horsepower.
The G 350d in Germany starts at 95.021.50 euro ($107,868 at current currency rates), so the G 400d might be slightly more expensive. It might be cheaper than the G 500, which is gas-powered and starts at 107,040.50 euros ($121,506).
The G 400d is not expected to be seen in American showrooms, just like the G 350d. Mercedes is placing a greater emphasis upon electrification in America than on offering a broad range of diesel engines.
The G-Class is available in the U.S as the 416-hp G550 for $124,000.500 or the 577-hp G63 AMG at $147,000.500.
