Bentley has been selling 12-cylinder models with all-wheel-drive for a lot of money, and now Mercedes-AMG seems to have noticed.
Tobias Moers, CEO of Mercedes-AMG, stated in a recent interview that the company will offer an all-wheel-drive system for models with the twin-turbo V12 engines. He also said that the V12 engine would be more powerful because he wanted to make a significant power difference between V8 and V12 engines.
Moers also confirmed that the next-generation E63 would be equipped with an AMG Speedshift nine-speed automatic transmission. Moers also confirmed that the car will come with the same electronic rear differential as the C63 S Coupe.
Moers also suggested that the C-Class Convertible would receive an AMG variant with high-performance performance. It’s not surprising, as our spy spotted the model in testing earlier this month.
The C63 Convertible will heavily be inspired by the coupe. It should have a twin-turbo, 4.0-liter V8 motor with 476 PS (349kW) and 650Nm (479lb-ft), as well as 510PS (375kW) and 700Nm (516lb-ft). The convertible versions will have a slightly slower and heavier engine than the coupe.
