Take a look at the Real-World Cars from Ready Player One

DeLorean, a time-travelling DeLorean, and the Innovative Online Industries SUV both make an appearance.

The new film Ready player One is, according to all accounts, a nostalgic 1980’s movie. Steven Spielberg’s latest blockbuster is based on the classic book of the same title. Movies, video games and pop culture elements all come together to make this movie, which received a lot of praise in its first weekend. Rotten Tomatoes rates it at 74 percent, which is a good score.

The film’s most significant element is the wide variety of vehicles it features. These include Back to the Future’s time-traveling DeLorean and a city made entirely from RVs. A rugged military-style SUV plays a prominent role. YouTuber TheAficionauto walks us through some of the most important vehicles within this six-minute clip.

The DeLorean is first. This is a exact replica of the CGI version that was used in the movie and has all the features you would expect from the original, including a flux capacitor. The next modification is the modified postal truck, which comes with all the necessary camera boxes and an interior that can be used in the film. The military-inspired “Innovative online Industries” truck, which is identical to the movie version, comes with a fully completed interior.

The vans and trucks featured in this video were used exclusively for real-world scenes. As a CGI model, the DeLorean does not make an appearance in Oasis, the video-game world where the main character is found. The Oasis also features the BigFoot monster trucks, Akira’s motorcycle, the original batmobile and a few NASCAR stock cars used by the bad guys during races.
