Hennessey Says High-Downforce Venom F5 GTR Under Consideration

There won’t even be an electrified version.

The Hennessey V5 was a difficult journey. The Venom F5 production model was first announced by the American tuner/niche carmaker in 2014. It took more than ten years for the Venom F5 to be officially released. The hypercar’s maximum speed was 290 miles an hour (467 km per hour).

Hennessey gave birth to a new fossil fuel-burner in December 2020. It is powered by a twin-turbo, 6.6-liter V8. This engine produces 1,817 horsepower (1,354 Kilowatts) as well as 1,193 pound feet (1,617 Newton meters) of torque. It has an top speed claim of 311 mph (505 km/h).

John Hennessey doesn’t stop there. Hennessey stated in an interview with Top Gear that a Venom F5 GTR-type Venom F5 would be “cool to do” at some point.

However, this is not the main focus right now. Hennessey said that the Venom F5 is their primary focus. Hennessey stated that the company is not interested in making the Venom F5 track-focused, despite being asked about it. Top Gear interview.

Hennessey said that he is focusing on building the car and didn’t dispute previous reports about his company wanting to compete in the Nurburgring. He said they aren’t trying to do five minutes at Green Hell, so don’t expect ridiculous lap times. Hennessey estimates that a lap should take no more than seven minutes.

Hennessey assured those concerned about electrification that there will not be an electrified Venom F5.
