2013 Opel Cabrio spy with top down
The development of the Opel Astra Cabriolet, the new Opel Astra Cabriolet, is moving at top speed ahead of its unveiling at Paris Motor Show next month. This spy video shows a prototype car that was recently seen at the Nurburgring circuit in Germany.
Engineers have changed the product’s look from the predecessor. They removed the retractable hard-top roof and replaced it with a soft-top canvas roof. This is lighter and more affordable. This design will be similar to the sedan, hatchback, and station wagon body styles.
The engine options available to the siblings will also be carried over. These could include four gasoline units with power ranging from 100 hp (72.4 kW), to 180 hp (128 kW), and three diesel units that generate 95 hp (70.0 kW), to 130 hp (96.6 kW).
Production will begin at the company’s Gliwice facility, Poland. The first units are expected to arrive in dealerships in 2013.
