Smart’s latest limited edition fortwo launches in Geneva with green paint, and a green spirit.
Drivers of microcars might feel the pressure to be different as more smart fortwos take to the roads. Limited edition trim packages are the solution. The Geneva debut of the latest special edition smart fortwo will be in green color and spirit. The limited edition bows will be made with three unique green paint colors, an interior that has been cheerfully redesigned and a stop-start system.
The limited three begins with special paint, just like previous smart special editions. It’s this time in a beautiful metallic melon, with aluminum-finished “limited three” badges, and staggered-width 15-inch wheels. You can choose between a coupe and a cabriolet for the limited three.
The melon-green motif continues inside, with color-matched fabric, dark brown leather accents at the shift knob and steering wheel. The limited three has a unique look inside thanks to the extensive use of matte silver trim. Based on fortwo’s “passion”, the limited three features smart’s softouch manual transmission, power windows, and automatic climate control. The limited three coupe models come with a panoramic roof and sunshade. You can choose from heated seats, power steering, and an upgraded sound system.
The micro-hybrid technology (MHD), which incorporates a stop-start mechanism, keeps the limited green in mind. The limited three’s speed falls below eight km/h and the 52 kW/71 horsepower engine shuts down completely. When the brake pedal is released, the engine will restart. Smart claims that stop-and-go traffic can result in fuel savings of between 8 and 20 percent. Also, CO2 emissions are reduced.
The smart fortwo edition was limited to three bows in Geneva. German pricing includes VAT at EUR15.470 for the coupe, and EUR18.510 for the cabrio.
