The 2019 Kia Small Crossover Reveal: New Kia
The Indian crossover is known as the Tusker.

The Kia SP Signature production model is in the works, and the Kolesa rendering artists are already imagining the final road-going version. Many of these elements are straight from the show car.

Although the new Kia crossover is compact, it has a chunky design that makes it appear a bit more aggressive. The grille’s sides are accented by slim LED headlights. This model has a tri-tone scheme that includes black trim at the lower sections and a silver roof. According to reports, the model will be placed below the Sportage in the brand’s lineup.

The biggest mystery surrounding the Tusker’s powertrain is its powertrain. According to rumours, it will be offered with either a turbocharged four-cylinder engine or a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated motor. The transmission options include a seven-speed dual clutch automatic and front-wheel drive.

In 2018, Kia presented the shape first as the SP Concept. The SP Signature Concept (gallery below) further refined the look in 2019. As part of an Indian product offensive, the company designed the vehicle to appeal to the Indian market. The crossover will be sold in India under the Tusker name. However, it is not clear if this moniker would also apply to other markets.

In the next few months, India will see the production Tusker make its debut. Han-Woo Park, Kia CEO confirmed that the model will be available in the United States during the second half of the Year. Instead of being produced in India, North American models would be made in a Kia plant located in South Korea.
