It sounds just as good as it looks.

Ferrari impressed the automotive community last year when it unveiled the Ferrari Monza SP1 (one- and two-seat speedsters) Maranello-based Ferrari unveiled the special edition cars at Paris Motor Show. Ferrari claims that it will make fewer than 500 each of the two special edition cars, making them extremely rare to see on the road. One Ferrari Monza SP1 is shown being delivered to London by a dealership. This was likely done in preparation for customer deliveries since every one of the cars has been sold.

More Monza Mania:

The Ferrari 812 Superfast The Monza SP1 is powered by the same engine as the Monza SP1. However, the new speedster produces much more power. The Monza produces 809 horsepower (603 Kilowatts), compared to 789 HP (588 kW), in the 812. It is Maranello’s strongest engine. In 2.9 seconds, the SP1 can sprint from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) and to 124 mph (220 kph), in 7.9 seconds. The top speed is greater than 186 mph (390 kph). Monza SP1’s performance specs match its wild appearance.

The SP1 is a nod to the dangerous race cars of the past, where drivers had little protection from the elements. Ferrari invented the “Virtual Wind Shield” to provide comfort for the driver behind the wheel. It is a windscreen that redirects airflow and covers the driver’s head. Ferrari revealed the SP1 & SP2 last October. It provides occupants with “the sensation of blistering speed normally experienced only by Formula 1 drivers.”

The Ferrari Monza SP1 is unlikely to be produced. This will make it a rare opportunity to see one on the road. This Ferrari is the Ferrari collectors have kept for many decades, only to be able to sell at auction for crazy prices. It’s rare that you will get to see one in person.
