This certainly looks like something VW should make.
The new Volkswagen Polo is available in two versions if you reside in countries outside the U.S.: the standard trim or the hot GTI version. This model comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, and a respectable 200 horsepower (147kilowatts). Rumours suggest that an R model with 300 horsepower (223-kW), is in development.
But what if? VW Kleber Silva, a German artist, should be contacted by Volkswagen to ensure that the Polo range is always fresh and has options to suit the changing lifestyles of rivals Ford and VW. This is the VW Polo Alltrack rendering, which he describes as a vehicle that’s designed for active lifestyles.
Exterior is finished with a beautiful dark blue paint job. There’s body cladding around the fenders, side sills and around the fenders. This borrows cues from the Fiesta Active. The Fiesta Active rides slightly higher than the standard Fiesta. This is because it will not be damaged by any kind of soft-roading. It looks like something VW could add to its existing Golf Alltrack lineup.
However, don’t expect to get more power. Ford Fiesta Active, a rival to it, comes standard with either a 140 horsepower (104 kW) EcoBoost gas engine or a 1.5-liter diesel option that produces 120 hp (1 kW). The Polo Alltrack could theoretically use the same engines as the road-focused model.
The base Polo is available with either a 1.0-liter base gas engine producing 65 horsepower (48 kW) or a 1.5-liter engine that produces 150 horsepower (111 kW). There are two 1.6-liter diesel engines available. They produce 80 and 95 horsepower (59 and 70 respectively). The Polo GTI generates 200 horsepower (147 kW).
