Are you excited for the Urus Performante This tuner may have the answer.
ABT has finally “fixed” the Lamborghini Urus, which was severely underpowered. The German tuner stopped playing with the mainstream Volkswagens and Audis and SEATs and shifted his attention to the raging bull on stilts. The twin-turbo, 4.0-liter V8 from the twin-turbo has been tuned to produce 700 horsepower or 7 more than the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk with its supercharged, 6.2-liter engine.
You get an extra horsepower and a nice boost in torque, from 627 lb-ft (850 Newton-meters), to 671 lbft (910 Nm). This is slightly more than America’s Super. SUV The Trackhawk can only carry 645 lb (875 Nm) of muscle. ABT claims that the extra muscle has reduced the sprint to 60 mph (96.6 kph) by two-tenths of an second. It now takes only 3.4 seconds, or 0.1s less than the Trackhawk.
Although the aftermarket specialist doesn’t know if the top speed has increased due to the ABT Engine module the stock Lamborghini Urus can still go at 189.5 mph (305 km/h) We would also like to know how the 0-124mph (0-200 km/h) speed has changed after the powerlift over the regular SUV. This task takes 12.8 seconds.
Rumours have it that Lamborghini is making a high-performance version of the Urus, tentatively named Urus Performante. Technically speaking, Sant’Agata Bolognese has already created a more powerful Urus using the STX race car concept. Some of the goodies are being adapted to a road-ready version. The spicy Urus flavor, if true, will be able to compete with other SUVs within the VW Group such as the Bentley Bentayga Speed or the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid.
Tuners such as ABT will continue to be happy to extract more power from the eight-cylinder engine, if the stock output is not sufficient.
