Bond has been associated with Aston Martins since the 1970s. Bond was also the driver of the V8 Vantage in the 1987 movie The Living Daylights, where Timothy Dalton played the role of 007. In 1977, the V8 Vantage was added to the range as a more powerful version of the Aston Martin V8. The initial versions produced 390 horsepower (291 Kilowatts) using a 5.3-liter V8. However, an option pack was available in 1986 to increase the output to 402 HP (300 kW).
