The rendering preserves the iconic elements, but updates the rest.
The Delorean is still instantly recognisable today, despite only a short production run. The Sketch Monkey has released a new video that shows how the modern version of this coupe might look.
Giorgetto Giugiaro designed the original DeLorean shape. Similar to his other creations, the wedge-shaped design features similar touches to those of the Lotus Espirit and Volkswagen Scirocco. Sketch Monkey identified the DeLorean’s most significant styling elements as the flat hood, curving door cut line and angular transition between roof and rear deck.
The Sketch Monkey replaces the worn-out sealed beam headlights with newer, more modern looking ones. However, he retains the boxy appearance of his car’s headlights. The grille is still covered by thin horizontal slats.

Although the flat hood is still present, the shape doesn’t fit as well into the fender like Giugiaro’s original design. The new design would look more appealing if the wheel arch had a subtle flare.
The Sketch Monkey adds a point element to the front and incorporates an intake in the rear. This really enhances the door’s shape. This styling will allow for the famous DeLorean gullwing doors.
This design eliminates the glass sections at the sides that were largely functional from the original DeLorean. However, the sections visually expand the greenhouse. The tail loses some personality by losing this element in the rendering.
