The NILS is VW’s single-seat EV design.

A new lightweight electric concept is available with an electric motor that has a peak output of 25kW (34 HP) for a short time.

Volkswagen’s NILS Concept is a single-seat electric vehicle designed for urban mobility.

VW claims that the NILS is the same layout as a Formula One car, namely it has a single centrally mounted seat and has open wheels. However, its specs are similar to a motorbike.

The NILS is 3.04m long (119.7ins), 1.2m (47.2ins) high, and 0.39 meter (15.4ins) wide. The EV is made of aluminum spaceframe and features winged doors.

The EV has an electric motor that produces a nominal output output of 15 kW (20 PS/20 bhp), and a peak output output of 25kW (34 PS/34 bhp). The car’s electric motor is just 19 kg (42lbs) in weight and its total curb weight is just 460 kg (1.014 lbs).

The car’s low weight allows it to reach a top speed 130 km/h (80 MPH) from a standing position in just 11 seconds. The NILS can travel up to 65km (40 miles) using its 5.3 kWh battery pack. It takes less than two hours to fully recharge from a 230V outlet.

In 11 days, the VW NILS concept will be made public at Frankfurt’s motor show.
