It brings back fond memories of Felicia Fun.
Last time: Skoda had a pickup on sale was in 2001 during the final year of the gone-but-not-forgotten Felicia. This utilitarian Kodiaq truck is not a truck that Mlada Boleslav has promised. It was a concept car created by 35 students at the Skoda Vocational School of Mechanical Engineering. This is the sixth vehicle developed by these talented students and the first to use the large. SUV.
The Felicia Fun is a lifestyle-oriented pickup truck that was available in Western Europe at the end of Felicia’s lifecycle. Its vibrant orange color reminds us of Felicia Fun. The unusual special edition featured rear seats that could slide out to the cargo bed. Skoda hasn’t confirmed whether the Kodiaq pickup’s two-door model will have this feature. However, we would love to see it return for this project.
Skoda enthusiasts know that this will not be the first pickup trucks built by Skoda’s students. The Funstar concept, which was originally a Fabia supermini but converted into a two-seater with tiny beds in 2015, is another example. The Citigo-based CitiJet convertible and the Rapid Spaceback-based Atero Coupe were some of the other one-offs that Skoda introduced in recent years. Also, the Citigo based Element electric buggy and the Sunroq, a four-door Karoq convertible, were all among others. The Kodiaq pickup truck, like all previous concept cars will be a one-off to showcase what Skoda’s students can do when they are allowed to experiment.
Skoda’s sixth student vehicle will be revealed in June. The project is supported by Skoda’s engineering and design teams.
