Upgrades to the exhaust and center pipes could increase its power by up to 450 horsepower.

Litchfield Motors is well-known for its work on the 6-31-horsepower Nissan GT-R. Now, they have a new toy – the 2020 Toyota Supra. It’s not surprising that the Japanese sports car was designed to be used by tuners.

However, the British tuner was able to extract more power from the Supra by using a simple ECU tune. The Supra-tuned by Litchfield was able to produce 420 horsepower (313 kW), and 440 lbft (597Nm) of torque. This is a far cry than the 335 HP (250 kW), and 369 Lb-ft (500Nm) claimed.

Litchfield’s efforts were not a stretch. Maha dyno, the tuner’s Maha, revealed that the Supra can produce 376 hp (329 kW) and 390 lb/ft (529 Nm torque), which means that the ECU remap added approximately 50 horses to the BMW-sourced 3.0-liter engine. It wasn’t surprising, though. There have been reports that the Supra has performed better in dyno testing.

Litchfield doesn’t stop there. Litchfield isn’t stopping there. The U.K.-based tuner will also be working with Milltek, Akrapovic, and other experts to improve the car’s exhaust system and center piping. With a goal of 450 horsepower and more, Akrapovic did exhaust upgrades on the Supra before, and it was amazing.

You can expect more from this Litchfield tune about the Supra. They are also working with Bilstein and KW to develop an oil cooler for their engine. Suspension bush and sprocket replacements are in the works. It’s only a matter time before the tuner releases the final Supra setup with more power.
