Porsche 911 GT3 RS Targa Doesn’t Exist, But Tuner Comes Close

This Targa custom makes 566 horsepower after extensive upgrades.

Customers have a wide range of choices when it comes to the Porsche 911 lineup. These options include the basic 911 Carrera and the all-wheel-drive Carrera 4 GTS Cabriolet. McChip-dkr, a German tuner, now offers a second option by extensively tuning Targa’s Targa body to increase its GT3 power. This is usually only available in a coupe.

McChip-dkr uses 911 Targa4 GTS to base these upgrades. The firm manages to increase the output to 566 horsepower (422 Kilowatts) as well as 498 poundfeet (675 Newton-meters), a significant upgrade from the stock trim’s 450 HP (336 kW), and 405 lb-549 Nm. The tuner adds a stage three performance upgrade to the model. This includes new turbos and downpipes as well as Capristo exhaust with sports catalysts.

A set of height-adjustable, KW coilovers as well as some Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes can give you an extra boost in performance. GT3RS wheels are 20 inches wide in the front and 21 inches at the back. This Targa looks more Porsche-like.

This custom Targa’s exterior looks like a GT3 RS. McChip-dkr used genuine Porsche parts to attach the bumpers, fenders and trim. The Porsche track-focused coupe also has exhaust outlets. These tweaks result in a stunning Targa that could be easily sold by the German automaker.

McChip-dkr’s interior is retro. They covered the seat and door panels with a special houndstooth pattern called Pepita. This refers to the upholstery on classic Porsches. Although the old-school look doesn’t go with the modern exterior, it is an excellent attribute to an open-roof vehicle.
