Although it is still a long way off, sources suggest that the engine could be a turbocharged 2.5-liter four cylinder engine and equipped with a hybrid system. Although the engine is expected to produce 400 bhp (298kW), there have been rumors of a hybridized V6.
As we’ve reported, the Supra successor will be in production due to Toyota and BMW. The new model will be based on the GT86 platform, and will feature suspension tuning by BMW.
Tetsuya Tada, chief engineer for Toyota GT 86, has confirmed that the company plans to launch the car soon. Rumours suggest that we might see a concept at the Tokyo Motor Show this year. The model will be based on the FT-HS concept .
