Only 25 homes will be constructed, it is obvious.
After his retirement, Ian Callum , a former Jaguar and Aston Martin design director, launched his new company last month. Callum’s debut project is now available. It is based on Aston Martin Vanquish, and will only be 25 examples. Meet the Vanquish 25 – a modern version of a classic from new school.
This is not a case of giving the Vanquish a few visual tweaks. All cars will be stripped to the bare metal and rebuilt with new materials and technology.
Callum and its partners, such as UK-based R-Reforged have already built two prototypes. One was used to develop the suspension, and the other to show the interior and exterior touches. The V12 engine will be available in all 25 cars. It includes software, hardware and exhaust upgrades. This will give it a power output close to 600 horsepower (447kilowatts). Callum will offer a six-speed automatic transmission, while the original manual will still be available.
Ian Callum’s New Company
It retains most of its original appearance, but the Vanquish’s rebirth will be equipped with modern technology and features, such as LED headlights or taillights, larger carbon-ceramic brakes (20-inch wheels), special Michelin tires, and a retrimmed cabin with sports seats and a screen-based infotainment program.
Callum’s first project was actually in the planning stages for several months. Ian Callum joined the company relatively quickly, but his design partners, Adam Donfrancesco and Tim Bird, have done a lot more work. The Vanquish 25 series donor cars will either be sourced directly by the company or from existing owners.
