Mazda Teaser suggests Something Big is Coming for the New York Auto Show

We don’t know yet, but we will find out on March 28.

Mazda made a teaser video about something they will be cooking at the 2018 New York Auto Show. We know that the automaker will have something for the masses on Wednesday, 28 March at 3:30 pm, New York time. It also shows a hint at a grille and headlight outline. This makes it look like a Mazda .

We would guess that this is an SUV, as Mazda likes to emphasize the big in its social media posts. This is a mystery as we have not seen the Japanese automaker much in spy circles. Although the CX-5 has a long history, both the CX-3 as well as CX-9 may be getting a slight refresh. Mazda also plans to bring the all new crossover to the U.S. market. It would be in the same place as the CX-5 or CX-9. The problem is that this is not expected to happen before 2021.

The all-wheel-drive version of either the Mazda3, or refreshed Mazda6 is available as a wildcard. The Japanese offer both cars with all-wheel drive and executives are interested in offering this option to American buyers. This layout is a little more complicated with the turbocharged mill. It’s not something we expect to see happen anytime soon, if ever.

We’ll have to wait until Wednesday afternoon with the rest Motor1.com users, when Mazda will open its arms and show us its hand.
