Consumers benefit from competition
Although we are still waiting for Hyundai’s new pickup truck to arrive, the company is already planning for what’s next. Albert Biermann, Hyundai N boss, stated that the company is looking at all options for future products in an interview with Motoring.com.au. This means that the Hyundai truck could be hotter than the Ford Ranger Raptor.
Biermann stated to the publication that you must be prepared for anything from Hyundai and Kia, adding that it is possible. Motoring claims that the Hyundai N-based truck has a long travel suspension and aggressive looks. The turbo 2.0-liter version of the i30N’s turbo 2.0 liter could power the powerful truck. It could produce as much as 301 horsepower (225kilowatts) and more. This could allow Hyundai’s Ranger Raptor competitor to reach speeds of 62 miles an hour (100 km per hour) in under seven seconds.

It is not known when Hyundai’s new pickup will be available. Hyundai’s first truck, the Santa Cruz concept that was first shown at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, is expected to debut in 2021. It’s possible that it will be available in multiple body styles, including single- and dual-cab models, as well as diesel and gas engines. The company stated that the truck would be available in late 2018.
Ford Ranger Raptor is a legend in the U.S. Ford was steadfast in its refusal to bring the truck here. However, reports suggest that Ford may be preparing to boost the Ranger’s power to allow Ford to bring the Ranger Raptor to the States. Although this is speculation, it is possible that Ford could be forced to compete in America if Hyundai plans to increase the power of its truck and add an off-road suspension to the truck.
