Imagine a city-sized electric vehicle with twin motors.
At the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show, the production Honda E made its debut. The Honda E is a small, stylish electric car that can be used in the city. It has a retro design as well as a minimalistic, elegant cabin. The range-topping model currently has 154 horsepower (113 Kilowatts). While that’s a good figure for an RWD hatchback weighing in at approximately 3,086 lbs (1,400 kg), it won’t provide a true performance car driving experience. Avarvarii created a fictional sports version with the Type R index. This is an ideological successor of the City Turbo II.
It could happen:
Let’s start with the good news. It looks fantastic – it sits lower than the regular car, has subtle aerodynamic packages, including new side skirts and an additional front bumper lip. There is also a spoiler at the rear. The kit includes Type R-specific tires and wheels, as well as Type R badges below the Honda logo on front fascia.
Everything You Need to Know:
Now, the bad news. Honda does not intend to sell such a vehicle. Instead, the company will focus its efforts on more advanced and intelligent versions of its zero-emission model. At the 2019 IAA near River Main, Kohei Hitomi, project leader of Honda E Type R said that the Honda E Type R was not the right choice.
It might be the best choice for some segments and Type R is a way Honda can express its sporty brand capability. Hitomi said that HondaE is a vehicle we intend to offer a new level of value to our customers.
The idea of a Honda E performance model will be relegated to our imaginations. We don’t think this cool rendering will inspire tuning companies to make an electric vehicle, but it is possible.
