True thoroughbred.

The Ferrari Purosangue will be coming soon. Thanks to an interview with AutoCar‘s chief technical office, Michael Leiters we now know more about this model than ever.

Purosangue Puritan

Leiters calls the model 175, internally. It is a true SUV. Leiters stated that he believes he has found a concept and a package that is both a true SUV and will be bought by SUV buyers.

We don’t expect a variant with the GTC4Lusso shooting brake body style. AutoCar explains that the SUV will likely be based on Ferrari’s next generation front-engine platform. It is expected to arrive in 2022. Given the platform’s ability to accommodate V6, V8, or V12 engines, a variety of engines could be housed under the Purosangue. AutoCarbelieves that the Purosangue will have seating for four people and offer a gasoline/electric hybrid powertrain option, similar to the SF90 Stradale.

Ferocious Ferrari News:

The hybrid Purosangue, like the SF90 will likely pair its gas engine with three electrical motors. Two at the front axle and one at rear transaxle. It will likely be paired with a turbocharged, V6 engine. As the SUV’s most powerful powertrain option, a V12 engine will likely be in place.

All of this speculation is, however, purely conjectural at the moment. AutoCar tells us that the Ferrari Purosangue is still being developed and that Ferrari appears determined to make it the Ferrari SUV.
