It is expected to make its debut in 2022.
Fiat has a very small brand within the larger conglomerate, now called Stellantis. However, the Italian automaker continues to thrive. The US lineup is now limited to the Fiat 500X, although the brand offers a wider range of vehicles elsewhere, including a small cargo van. New spy photos suggest that the Fiat Fiorino will be getting a major redesign.
These photos show the van’s odd shape with camouflage covering its front clip and entire lower half. Although it looks very similar to the Fiat offering now, the front design is more modern and sleeker. This shouldn’t surprise, considering the Fiorino’s current generation went on sale in 2007. It also received a facelift for 2016. The aerodynamic roof fairing, which helps to direct airflow over the uneven top of the Fiorino’s roof, doesn’t change much.
Although powertrain details are still unknown, spy photographers suggest that Fiat’s standard mill will be its 1.4-liter four cylinder. The turbocharged 1.3-liter four cylinder engine will likely be offered by the company. The rear of the test vehicle features a new taillight design, which we will see in the production version. Interior should also be updated with modern, functional design and the latest safety and infotainment software.
Although the updated Fiat Fiorino will debut in 2022, it is not clear which markets it will be available. Fiat’s new corporate bosses have over a dozen brands they need to manage globally, and each brand will have the chance to succeed. The merger’s goal was to save both companies money. As the fourth largest automaker in the world, we’ll need to see what the company has in store.
