A Twin-Turbocharged BMW M4 Supercharged and Turbocharged Blasts The Autobahn

The tuned engine now produces 600 horsepower.

Infinitas can upgrade BMW’s S55B30 engine, a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter motor that powers several M cars. The unique supercharger system was developed by the tuner in collaboration with ASA Kompressor. It works in tandem to the engine’s twin-turbocharged configuration, significantly increasing the engine’s output. TopSpeedGermany YouTube channel showcases the improvements with a tuned M4.

In its lowest configuration, the tuned engine – SK1- produces 600 horsepower (447 Kilowatts) as well as 590 pound-feet (899 Newton-meters). Infinitas places the supercharger downstream of the turbocharger. This allows the supercharger pre-compresses the intake air before entering the supercharger. This creates a higher boost pressure, and consequently more power. This kit comes with a sports filter, a large-volume, cast aluminum tube, and a charger air cooler made from aluminum.

The video shows that the tuned M4 can travel at just over 300 km/h (186 miles/h). The SK1 upgrade also includes a new engine calibration, which increases the car’s top speeds. The supercharger gives the M4 a unique sound with its uncommon supercharger/turbocharger pairing.

According to Infinitas’ new upgrade kits, the power ranges from 700 hp (521kW) and 663lb-ft (900 Nm) to 1,000 HP (745kW) and 811lb-ft (1 1,100 Nm). To handle the extra power, certain upgrade packs will have reinforced engine components.

You can upgrade your SK1 for EUR6,998 (or $7,968 at current exchange rate), and it will cost you another EUR2,112 (or 2,450). This is a large sum for more power but it’s also available in a compelling package that can accommodate the F8x HTML3, M4 and F87 HTML2 Competition as well as the M2 CS. It does not include the donor BMW.
