There is no coupe for you.
We are sorry, old Integra owners. It’s not surprising that Type-R fans were excited about the idea of a new compact Acura coupe. But, it seems like their hopes have been dashed. Acura has released a teaser video that shows a glimpse at the new Integra’s profile. If you look closely, you will see a B-pillar that separates the rear and front doors.
You could also jump to Acura’s Integra website. The top half of the Integra will now be shown in a high resolution image that better shows the B-pillar. Acura has confirmed that the new Integra will be a premium sport compact, with striking five-door designs. We get a hatchback, which is a victory for purists.
The car looks sleek so far. Images show a low, long roof with a slight spoiler at the top. The rear fascia appears to sweep backwards. The sleek, modern taillights are thin and long. Everything we have seen so far is very clean and free of contrast body lines. We have only seen the topside view and a closeup of a headlight so far. We don’t know if the dark area below the Integra’s beltline is a maze of angles and vents. We hope this is not the case.
We don’t know much about the reborn Teg at this time. The appearance of the reborn ‘Teg in front of the current Type S teaser suggested that it was similar to the previous Type S teaser. This teaser offers a shade of TLX with a higher beltline, up-kinked rear quarter and a darker color. It will likely share the Honda Civic’s underpinnings, which means that the front wheels will have modest turbocharged power. To begin with at least. It’s possible to electrify any at this stage.
All questions should be answered by the spring 2022. Acura will then officially unveil the Integra.
