Acura NSX Lines Up Against Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 For A Drag Race

It was a close call.

This is a mismatched drag race between an Acura NX, and a Mercedes AMG GLC 63 Coupe. A hybrid supercar with turbocharged engine versus a crossover equipped with a twin-turbo engine.

The GLC63 is powered by a 4.0-liter twin turbo V8 that produces 469 horsepower (649 Newton-meters), 503 HP (375 kW), and 516 lb (700 Nm), in the standard model.

The NSX features a 3.5-liter twin turbo V6 engine with three electric motors. It produces 573 hp (427 kW), and 476 lbft (645 Nm). This one is at least the 2019 model year . The NSX appears to have an advantage on paper. But let’s look at how they perform on drag strip.

If you look closely, the GLC63 jumps slightly from the start. This is why it takes the lead. The two vehicles are now side-by-side about halfway down the strip. The NSX takes a small lead from there.
