Acura NSX Type SM Sold Out in The USA In 24 Hours

There was a long waiting list as the order book was full.

Acura unveiled the 2022 NSX Type H at Car Week in Monterey. The company claimed that 350 units would be built, with 300 going to the US. If you haven’t yet placed an order, we can confirm that all orders are fulfilled.

This shouldn’t be surprising considering the limited production runs, but customers were immediately interested. A source from Acura informed Motor1.com all 300 Type S models for the US market were reserved with deposits within 24 hours. There is now a waiting list of more than 100 people. The starting price is $169,500 and the $182,500 cost for cars with the lightweight package. The first VIN was sold for much higher prices.

The NSX Type is not a limited-run vehicle. The NSX Type has a more aggressive front fascia and carbon elements such as the side sills and rear diffuser. The twin-turbocharged V6 hybrid 3.5-liter engine produces 600 horsepower (447 Kilowatts) or 492 pound-feet (667 Newton-meters).

The new turbochargers and larger battery allow the car to travel further in EV mode. Retuned nine-speed dual-clutch gearbox, which now offers 50 percent faster upshifts and a new quick downshift mode.

The NSX has been our favorite vehicle for many years. We have driven it more than once and always come away with a smile on our faces. We expect the Type S to be just as fun to drive and a future classic, based on its initial reaction. Acura will start production of the 2022 NSX Type S at its Performance Manufacturing Center, Ohio later this year.
