Finally, available for order
is finally available for purchase, just one year after its online debut. The 2021 Type S is now available for purchase at a starting price $52,300 (MSRP), excluding destination or handling fees. The performance sedan is now in a strong position against its direct competitors, but that’s another story.
Acura will sell the TLX Type S, which includes upgraded wheels and summer tires for an additional $800. This brings the total price up to $53,100. The sedan is powered by a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engine that produces 355 horsepower (265 Kilowatts), and 354 pound-feet (354 Newton-meters). An AWD system with true torque vectoring ensures that power is delivered to all four wheels.
The TLX Type S is a solid option in a crowded segment. Acura’s entry is very affordable compared to German competitors, but there are many other models that are less expensive in their base form. The table below compares the prices of the 2021 TLX Type S with those of its competitors.
