This BMW wagon with 608 horsepower is not your typical family hauler.
If you are a BMW enthusiast, it is very likely that Alpina is a high-valued possession. Alpina’s BMW-based creations are a stark contrast to BMW M division. They combine exceptional performance with bespoke luxury.
Alpina cars are very rarely available for us to experience, since BMW only sold a few models of the brand in the United States. We wish that Alpina would allow us to experience more of the special tuner’s offerings.
The ad shows a Porsche 911 GT3RS as well as a Mercedes AMG GT R battling it out on a long straightaway that looks suspiciously similar to the Nurburgring. The ferocious battle is perfectly accompanied by the fast-paced, heavy rock music of the cars and their raucous exhaust sounds.
The camera suddenly cuts to a plain-looking blue station wagon. Its introduction is announced with traditional Bavarian music. It’s not any ordinary blue station wagon. This is an Alpina Bi-Turbo.
The B5-Turbo Touring has 608 horsepower and can travel 60 miles an hour in 3.7 seconds. It also has a top speed of 200 miles per hour. If you get our drift, the station wagon can carry more than groceries.
The Alpina follows the AMG and moves out of the way of the B5 Biturbo. The station wagon disappears in a flash and rushes towards the vanishing point, leaving behind the Porsche and AMG.
It seems that the luxury performance car market is flooded with SUVs lately. It is refreshing to see at least one company still know how to make a fast wagon that can compete with the best.
