Aston Martin Valkyrie Production Gets Started, First Hypercar Built

In the next few weeks, deliveries will start.

Aston Martin, and Red Bull Racing presented their Formula 1-inspired hypercar creation five years ago. It was originally called the AM-RB 001, but it was renamed the Valkyrie in 2017. However, the project has been plagued by many obstacles and hiccups. Today, Aston Martin announced that it had completed the first Valkyrie customer vehicle. According to the company, deliveries will begin in the next few weeks.

Tobias Moers, CEO of the company, said that it was a proud moment to build our first hypercar. “The Aston Martin Valkyrie program has been a challenge for everyone involved, but the dedication to the dream has resulted in a truly remarkable car, an F1 car for road.”

Rumours that the automaker was having trouble with the car’s design surfaced in August 2020. Reports indicated that the car was unstable and difficult to drive. The Valkyrie is not your typical hypercar. The Aston is equipped with a Cosworth-built, 6.5-liter V12. This pair pairs with a Rimac KERS hybrid that produces an amazing 1,140 horsepower (838kilowatts).

Aston only builds 150 Valkyries, but each one takes more than 2,000 man-hours to build with a team “highly skilled technicians”. The vehicle is managed by a dedicated team from its build to its delivery. Customers can pick up their vehicle in a Valkyrie production area. After Aston has tested it in its high-performance facility, customers can take delivery.

The Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar is wild and wild with crazy technology. It took some time to get everything working, but the hypercar is now on the assembly line. A track-only AMR Pro version will be joined by a new Valkyrie Spider that the company introduced earlier in the year. We wish the Valkyrie, and all its variants, a smooth ride.
