Audi A1 Sportback 2012 with S Line revealed

The Audi A1 hatchback five-door version has slightly different dimensions and its own color, Samoa Orange.

Audi’s A1 Sportback, a five-door version of the A1 compact hatch, has been unveiled.

The dimensions of the A1 Sportback are slightly different from those of the A1 3-door, being 6mm (0.24 inches), wider and taller. You can also see the S line package in this variant.

There will be six engine options for the five-door A1: three petrols, three diesels. The 1.2 TFSI unit produces 86 PS (63kW/85 hp), and there are two TFSI units of 1.4 liters – 122PS (90kW/121 hp), and 185PS (136kW/183 hp).

The 1.6 liter TDI diesel engine has either 90 PS (66 kW / 89 hp), or 105 PS (77.5 kW / 104 hp). Audi’s 2.0 liter TDI will be available later on the A1 Sportback with 143 PS (105 kW / 141 hp).

Audi will offer the seven speed S tronic gearbox with some variants. It also comes standard with the range-topping, 1.4 TFSI engine with 185 PS.

You can choose from 12 colors for the car, including the exclusive Samoa Orange.

The Audi A1 Sportback will go on sale in 2012

Prices for the 1.2 TFSI in Germany start at EUR16.950, while the 1.6 TDI (with 90 PS) starts at EUR19.050.
