It’s not easy to get a 2023 Z06 if you want to be the first to buy one. One dealer said that there was a waiting list for up to four years due to the sheer number of people on it and the monthly allocations.
The Z06 features the LT6 naturally-aspirated 5.5-liter V8 with dual overhead camshafts, a flat-plane crankshaft and dual overhead camshafts. It produces 670 horsepower (623 Newton-meters) and 460 pounds-feet (623 kilowatts). It runs at 8,600 rpm. An eight-speed dual clutch transmission transmits the engine’s power.
The Z06 can travel 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 2.6 seconds. The maximum speed is around 200 mph (322 km/h). It can cover the quarter mile in 10.6 seconds.
The optional Z07 Performance Package includes the Magnetic Ride Control® 4.0 suspension. The wheels are made of carbon-fiber and weigh 41 pounds (18.6 kg) less than the unsprung weight. They also have Michelin Sport Cup 2 ZP tires wrapped around them. These parts allow the Z06 to pull 1.22 g of side grip on a skidpad.
The summer will see the Z06’s production begin. Chevy has yet to say when potential buyers will be able to place orders for the Z06.
