Daylesford, an ultra-posh organic farm, has designed a menu for the Linley hamper at $27500 that fits into the Bentayga trunk.
Daylesford Organic Farm has created an ultra-posh picnic to fit into the Linley hamper.
Bentley claims that the picnic is Daylesford’s autumn produce. In fact, almost all of the ingredients are from the Gloucestershire farm in England.
A carved pumpkin with green kale and heritage apples, crispy bacon and toasted seeds is on the menu. There are also buckwheat tabbouleh, wild mushroom, truffle and gruyere arcini, as well as roasted squash and balsamic-red onion tartlets, red kuri squash, chickpea cakes, raspberry macaroons filled with buttercream, chocolate praline and lemon and raspberry gateau.
It sounds delicious, even though I might be cynical.
Fuller says: “Late fall [fall] is a season of great abundance in Daylesford. We look forward to the intense, earthy flavors of our variety of squash, pumpkin, and beetroot, each grown in our organic soil over the summer. Slow-cooking is a great way to bring out the subtle sweetness of these vegetables. It can be paired with tender grass pastured beef, foraged wild mushrooms or game for a wonderful celebration of the season.
The Linley hamper fits the picnic perfectly. It was created in collaboration with David Linley (British designer, nephew of Queen Elizabeth II), and produced by Müller, Bentley’s personalization and accessories division.
The hamper’s three compartments are specifically designed to fit in the Bentayga trunk. One compartment contains Linley fine china tableware, silver cutlery and crystal glass. One has an illuminated chiller. The third houses dry goods as well as a Mulliner cashmere rugs.
The hamper isn’t cheap, as you probably already knew. It costs almost $27,500. This is a lot more than the price of a VW Golf GTi.
Although it may seem costly, it is a small price to pay for the Bentayga’s $230,000+ price tag. It’s not the most expensive option. The dashboard-mounted Breitling Tourbillon clock clock takes the title. It costs almost as much as your car. You could also fill the trunk with a custom fishing set.
Bentley does not actually say so, but Bentayga owners who fancy the picnic can order it at their nearest Daylesford shop – there are three in London. It will be just as expensive as the hamper.
