Bentley Bentayga Sport Coupe-SUV Coming In 2019?

You want a Bentley Bentayga that is more expensive but still offers the same practicality? It’s likely that you will have to wait for next year.

The coupe-SUV is being praised and criticized by some while it is detested by others. It looks like another member of the Volkswagen Group has just unveiled the Q8. This model combines two distinct body styles. A recent report by German magazine Auto Bild states that Bentley will add a second member to the Bentayga group, tentatively called “Bentayga Sports” in the near future.

The model will be sportier and more agile than its regular counterpart. It will have a coupe-like roofline, which will eat into rear passenger headroom and reduce cargo space. This will be all for the sake extra style. More people will pay more to have a BMW X6 rather than the regular X5, a Mercedes GLE Coupe instead of the GLE and presumably a BMW Q8 instead of a X7.

Other design changes Bentley are currently working on for Bentayga Sport will allegedly give a glimpse of what’s coming in terms of a midcycle facelift for Crewe’s luxurious SUV.

The Bentayga Sport, or whatever it will be called, isn’t the only new Bentley derivative. Last week, the company’s design boss spoke briefly about the new go-faster BentaygaSpeed. He spoke of a “big shift” in design, along with other upgrades that you would expect from a Speed-badged vehicle.

If you add two and two together, it’s possible we could be dealing the same model. The Bentayga Speed could adopt a coupe-inspired design, while still packing more power from its W12 engine.

If the reports are correct, we’ll find out before the end the decade.
