It will be made in China and exported worldwide.
BMW isn’t being too secretive about its new electric vehicle artillery. Bavarian automaker sent official spy photographs of the iX3 – a concept which was first introduced in 2018, but is now being confirmed for production next year – along with two other EVs, i4 and iNext.
There isn’t much information available about the iX3. It has a solid kidney grille, and is equipped with fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology. It can also access 150-watt charging stations and boasts a range exceeding 249 miles (400 km).
BMWBlog has a little more information about this all-new electric crossover. According to the source, the iX3 will be built on the G08 platform. This platform underpins long-wheelbase X3. The iX3 is also said to have a rear-wheel drive configuration in the United States. BMWBlog has also been given the alleged moniker of the iX3 – sDrive75. The 75 kW battery pack is represented by the number 75.
The U.S.-spec iX3 has a rear-wheel-drive configuration. However, it is rumored that the iX3 may have self-driving capabilities. Another possibility is that the iX3’s motors could produce 300 horsepower (224 kilowatts).
It has been proven that the 150-kW charging stations can charge the iX3 to 100% in 30 minutes. This is a big plus for people who don’t like waiting. The iX3 will only be made in China, and it will be exported from there to all parts of the world, including the U.S.
These rumors suggest that BMW is expanding its EV portfolio, but it may fall short against Tesla which has already dominated luxury EV markets in the country.
