BMW M3 vs Dodge Challenger, Hot Rod Lincoln at Drag Strip

The quarter-mile battle was won by the MKZ.

Although the Lincoln MKZ may not be the most desirable car, it was the last year of a powerful powertrain. Lincoln’s twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 delivered up to 400 horsepower (298 kilowatts) and 400 pound-feet (542 Newton-meters) of torque in all-wheel-drive-equipped models, making for a punchy luxury sedan. A YouTube video shows that it is not as powerful as the BMW.

Although the Lincoln takes the lead in quarter-mile, the MKZ’s V6 engine and all-wheel drive are not enough to stop the BMW. The BMW M3 looks similar to the Competition spec. It features a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-6-six. This powertrain is likely to produce 503 horsepower (375 kW) as well as 479 lbft (649 Nm). The BMW crossed the finish line in 11.95 seconds, at 123.20 mph (198.27 km/h). Lincoln covered the quarter-mile in 13.61 seconds, at 102.34 mph (164.70 km/h).

The second race is the BMW lined up beside a Dodge Challenger S/T Pack. With its 6.4-liter V8 generating 485 horsepower (361 kW) as well as 475 lbft (644 Nm), the Dodge screams off the track. The BMW maintains its lead, but the M3 is able to pass the BMW at the end. It crossed the line first in 11.62 seconds, at 125.52mph (202.00 km/h). It was almost beaten by the Challenger, who completed the race in 12.01 seconds at 114.2 mph (183.81 km/h).

Lincoln has decided to sell crossovers and SUVs, so the MKZ is no longer available in the US. Although the Lincoln was unable to compete with the M3 and Challenger, it was not far behind the other two vehicles. Even though it couldn’t beat the BMW, the Challenger did well.
