Although we are still in an early stage of testing, there are areas in which we have made progress over the current BMW M4 GT4. Jens Klingmann, test driver, stated that this is especially true for the ergonomics of the seats, the ease of use, and many other functions that the predecessor does not have.
The M4 GT4’s predecessor was introduced in 2017. It raced for the 2018 season. It used the same turbocharged 3.0-liter Inline-six engine as the road car and a seven speed dual-clutch gearbox. Customers could select from a variety of power outputs depending on the race series in which they were racing. Prices start at EUR169,000.
The M4 GT4 will face a lot of competition. Porsche has just introduced the 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, which races in the same class. It will be competing in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge and SRO GT4 America series in 2022.
