BMW confirmed that their jointly-developed sports car is now in the concept phase. It runs as planned.

Bloomberg asked for more details from the company, but Toyota said that the technical feasibility study had been “successfully completed”.
Although there are many rumors about this jointly-developed sports car it is expected that it will be a replacement for BMW Z4.

The Z5 has been tentatively called the model and is believed to have a carbon fiber tub that’s similar to the i3 or i8. The model will likely have a soft top, but there are rumors of a coupe version.

Although engine options have yet to be confirmed, speculation suggests that the car could come with a turbocharged 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine. It can produce outputs of 190 BHP (141 kW), 245 BHP (182 kW), and 270 BHP (201 kW). A high-performance Z5 M could be offered with a turbocharged six cylinder engine that produces approximately 425 bhp (317kW).
